AN EIGHT-STORY, 160,000 SF, 90-UNIT APARTMENT BUILDING ON A 13.3 ACRE PARCEL, WITH INDOOR PARKING FOR 90 CARS
Much of the design was driven by the desire to provide as many units as possible with views of the adjacent forest preserve. Oriented parallel to the Des Plaines River, units on the east side have stunning, unobstructed views, while end units on the north and south were developed so that the corner units on the west side could also share the vista. The structure was designed with load-bearing masonry, a precast concrete floor system, a facade of face brick, accents of stone and stucco, and a cast-in-place concrete base. The building has a classic yet contemporary look, and proved to be an excellent team effort between developer, builder, and architect.
