A NEW 235,000 SF CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS
As the largest office tenant in the Block 37 development in the heart of Chicago’s Loop, Morningstar’s eight-floor headquaters features its own two-story atrium on the 7th floor with an adjacent outdoor terrace along State Street, and a 200 seat auditorium overlooking Daley Plaza to the west. Using the firm’s corporate culture of complete transparency as a model for the design of the space, glass is used wherever possible to facilitate visual connections. There are no private offices within this open floor plan environment that is designed to enhance interaction and knowledge exchange, which is also complete with static and dynamic media displays to promote information sharing at multiple levels. Along with renewable materials and finishes, beverage bars stocked with glassware are present throughout to eliminate the disposal of approximately 2,500 plastic bottles and aluminum cans per week.
