Niels De Vita

Niels De Vita was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, to a half-Italian family who named him after the famed Scandinavian physicist, Niels Bohr. At age 18, he moved to the United States overcoming the language barrier to earn a Bachelor’s in Architecture with a minor in Architectural History from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Niels continued his studies with a Master of Science in Architecture where his thesis project  pushed forward a concept for a long-span solar chimney plant built using bamboo and ETFE.  With more than 5 years of professional design-build experience in commercial, residential, retail and educational projects of different sizes, Niels is a vital member of the Archideas team.

When not drawing for a living, you’ll find Niels at a nearby soccer field. Whether coaching or playing, he has never been as good as he thinks he is. Niels has dreams of traveling the world and spending time observing the many buildings and works of art he has only seen in books.
